There will be a contradance this Saturday January 28th. Music by Alan & the Agitators with Erik Weberg calling.

Teaching is at 7:30, dancing starts at 8:00

There is limited automobile parking: Good idea to carpool or ride your bike! There are three small parking lots at the school. The main Willamette
St. entrance provides access to two lots — on the north and the south sides of the school. The third one is a gravel lot, also on the south side, but accessed from E 35th Ave. Alternatively, turn off Willamette at 33rd and park in the South Eugene Post Office parking lot.

Help teach new dancers AND get in for a dollar less: Be there by 7:30!

A new hard-driving band from Portland, Alan and the Agitators features the dynamic fiddler Alan Snyder who recently moved to Portland from the Bay Area. Jeff Kerssen Griep lays down pulsating guitar riffs as well as the African djembe. Jon Neff adds his crisp mandolin & guitar, and Kristen Falk from Corvallis backs it all up with driving
percussion. Dancers are in for a delightful treat.

Erik has been calling contra dances and English Country dances for over twenty years. He has called local dances, festivals and weekends
in many parts of the USA and Canada and has developed a style and repertoire that dancers enjoy very much. His musical aspirations include playing wind instruments with the contra dance band Joyride.
Erik lives in Portland, Oregon where he is active in the music and dance scene and is co organizer of the annual Portland Megaband contra
dance.

We usually meet at 7:00 at (or near) New Morning Bakery on 2nd Street in downtown Corvallis to carpool to the Eugene dance. (If you see someone standing around, don’t be shy, ask if they’re going to the Eugene dance.)

If there’s a pre-dance potluck, we’d need to leave at about 5:00. So, if you want to share a ride to the potluck, post your info here. (Thus, it’s possible to have two carpools: one to the potluck at 5:00, and another to the dance at 7:00.)
